This week, our Reception class has been learning all about the life cycle of plants as part of their Understanding the World topic. The children have been exploring how plants grow from tiny seeds into beautiful flowers and vegetables, learning the important role that sunlight, water, and care play in the growing process.
To bring their learning to life, the children took part in a hands-on planting activity. Each child had the opportunity to pot their own seeds and carefully place them in our Reception outdoor area. With great enthusiasm, they used trowels, compost, and watering sprays, practicing their fine motor skills and showing lots of curiosity and care.
Over the coming weeks, the children will observe their plants grow and change, reinforcing their understanding of the plant life cycle in a real, meaningful way. We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic they’ve been, and we can’t wait to see our outdoor area bloom with their hard work!
Well done, Reception!
